Today we read 2 Kings 20, and the participants were Tomas, Hiyori, Emiri, Akari, Timothy, and Seiyu. We started at 7:33 pm, and Timothy joined sometime during the call.
Hiyori learned that it is important to have a strong desire so that God can use you. She said that having a strong desire is the first step and can be applied to things such as flyer time, etc. She also shared that last summer school class on Friday.
Emiri learned that Hezekiah was only thinking about himself and not his people, despite being faithful to God during his reign. Emiri shared that she wants to think more about the people around her and how her actions can benefit others.
Regarding her week, she shared that she went to Occidental College and Cal State LA for a school tour, and she said that the pool at Occidental College stood out to her the most. Akari learned that God sees and guides her individually as well as groups of people such as our church.
She also shared that she wants to find activities/hobbies that fit her personality, as she shared that everyone has different personalities. Tomas learned that when Hezekiah showed his earthly possessions, it symbolized him turning away from God.
Tomas also shared that the things on earth are temporary and that it’s more important to focus on God’s plan than on the things of this earth. Timothy shared that from part of today’s chapter that stated that Hezekiah wept bitterly, he learned that part of the process of repentance is to be honest with God.
He also learned that Hezekiah was self-seeking and wanted recognition from the people around him. He also shared that this week, he finished summer school and cleaned his room. I learned that Hezekiah was proud of his riches and that this led to his destruction. I learned that your gifts/talents come from God and are granted by him to be used for him.
