8/7 Morning Bible Reading

Passage: 1 Chronicles 21

What We Learned:
Since it was still fresh in my mind, reading this passage reminded me of what I learned in the Cornelius meeting yesterday. I shared about how I’ve been learning about the difference between human glory and God’s glory. Humans always seek glory for themselves, wanting themselves to look good in front of others, but God’s glory is what Jesus did. Although he was humiliated and suffered, what he did saved the entire world. I shared about how I am currently learning not to seek human glory, especially (currently) during the upcoming events: the piano concert and the camp. I have learned that the key is in motivation, why are you doing what you are doing. For example, during camp, I will be leading some of the outdoor activities, as the leader, my motivation should be to make sure everyone is happy and having a good time. In this way, I will not be focused on myself but on how I can help others.
Kanami learned that it is always important to be humble and be able to acknowledge when you are wrong. David was humble, so right after he sinned, he immediately repented to God, admitting that what he did was wrong. The reason for this is because he had a strong relationship with God, which allowed David to trust him.
