Bible Reading 1/13

I applied what I learned about testimony from the previous Sunday to ch. 9. Testimony is important because it helps me to remember how good God is and how he is always with me. By sharing testimony to others, it helps me to stay humble remembering that the blessings in my life are only because of God. Thus, when I face another trial in the future, by always giving testimony, it will help me to stand on the faith that God will bring me through.

The biggest testimony in my life right now is how he saved my life through the help of Masami-san and Jun. This is a testimony that I want to share with as many people as I can as I am truly grateful for all the time and effort they put into caring for me. It has also opened my eyes to see that God is truly with me and will never forsake me.

I shared that I began watching the 3rd season of the anime Jujutsu Kaisen. And, how I began practicing a new song with James. He taught me how to tune to different notes which was really cool. I learned that the usual tune for the guitar is in E, but he taught me how to tune to D.

Emiri shared that she learned about how the Bible is a story of the restoration of God’s Kingdom. During the time of Adam and Eve, they lost this inheritance. However, in Exodus, the Israelites entering the Promised Land foreshadows the inheritance Jesus won back for us. God’s purpose for us is to spread this news to the people around us. Reading these chapters reminded her of that and so she wants to keep doing that. During this week she practiced tennis for the first time in a while. She notice that her hitting improved.

In ch. 9, he could see that the people were arrogant and unfaithful. They didn’t realize that all the prosperity they were receiving was because of God. Though they were working for their own food in the Promised Land, they could only do so because God provided the land for them and made it fertile. Everything was because of God’s protection. The people forgot that and became self-centered.

In ch. 10, they repented and changed their mindset from “what can God do for me” to “what can I do for God.” Applying that, Timothy learned that whenever things go well in his life, he must not forget that God was the one who did it. It was only because of God’s guidance that he was able to succeed. In addition, he realizes he should share what God has done for him to the people around him as he believes it is a good way to credit God.

He had a math test this week and it was pretty easy. But, school still sucks. 

Tomas learned that he should always be grateful for what God has done for him, even the small things.

He shared about how he did a bleacher workout for track practice.

Since we’ve formed new groups and have begun practicing new praise songs for the guitar group, Emiri prayed that we can take praise more seriously.
