今日は午後７時半から歴代誌下１５章と１６章を読みました。参加者は、ひより、あかり、えみり、ティモシー、そして聖友でした。昨日は家族とベトナム料理のレストランに行ったので、読みませんでした。
ひよりは、人間は良い方向にも悪い方向にも簡単に変わることを学びました。また、神様が助けてくださった時には、いつも感謝することが大切だと学びました。礼拝の後、かなとお姉さんたちの家でギターの練習をしたと話してくれました。
あかりは、アサが偶像崇拝のために自分の祖母さえも退位させた話をしました。このことから、両親の言うことを鵜呑みにしないことの大切さを学びました。また、良い王様でさえ、人生の終わりに近づくにつれて傲慢になり、悪に染まっていくことにも気づきました。
えみりは、ほとんどの人が批判されたり叱られたりすると、怒りっぽくなり、頑固になると話しました。彼女は、建設的な批判を受けると、自分も同じように感じることがあると話し、そういう時は謙虚になることが重要だと言いました。
今週のこととして、彼女はクレープが食べたくてたまらなくなり、感謝祭の休暇中に一緒にクレープを食べようと話しました。
ティモシーは、１３節と１４節が特に印象に残ったと話し、そこから神の言葉を常に心に留めておくことの大切さを学んだと話しました。彼は日本旅行のことを話し、祖父に会えたことに感謝したと話しました。また、飛行機の中で『ショーシャンクの空に』という映画を観て、日本でうなぎを食べたことも話しました。
７節は私にとって特に印象的でした。諦めずに強くいることを思い出させてくれるからです。大学生活にも当てはめました。私も諦めたくなる時がありますが、この聖句は私に励ましを与えてくれました。
We read 2 Chronicles 15 and 16 today from 7:30 pm. The participants were Hiyori, Akari, Emiri, Timothy, and Seiyu. We didn’t read yesterday, as I went to a Vietnamese restaurant with my family last night.
Hiyori learned that humans easily change in both good and bad ways. She also learned that it is important to always give thanks to God when he helps her. She shared that she practiced guitar with Kana and her sisters at their house today after the service.
Akari shared about Asa deposing even his own grandmother as she worshipped idols. From this, she learned that it is important to not always accept everything your parents tell you, and she also noticed that most good kings turned bad towards the end of their lives as they became prideful.
Emiri shared that when most people are criticized or scolded, they become angry and stubborn. She shared that she also sometimes tends to feel this way whenever she receives constructive criticism and that it is important to be humble in those moments.
Regarding her week, she shared she craves crepes and that we should eat crepes together during Thanksgiving break.
Timothy shared that verses 13 and 14 stood out to him, and from the verses, he learned that it is important to always have God’s word with you. He shared about his trip to Japan and that he was grateful that he was able to see his grandpa. He also shared that he saw a movie called The Shawshank Redemption on the plane and he ate unagi in Japan.
Verse 7 stood out to me, as it reminded me to not give up and to stay strong. I applied this to college, as there are times when I want to give up, but this verse gave me a sense of encouragement.
