2 Chronicles 8-9
What We Learned:
Kanami was amazed at how much God blessed Solomon. Reading through these passages of how Solomon built the temple and all the other things he was able to achieve throughout his time as King, she felt that Solomon has the gift of leading people (uniting them and bringing them together). She wants our youth group to become more like that and she feels that that is what Masami-san has been trying to do by guiding us to do all these activities together such as the evangelical meeting. She’s been learning about action from the recent sermons, so she wants to be able to act more and help build the church (spiritual temple).
I shared how I could apply what I had learned from the previous Sunday service about the difference between the righteous (straight) path and the unrighteous (bent) path. The Queen of Sheba was able to see God through Solomon’s wisdom and greatness of his kingdom. I realize now that the purpose of my life is to find lost sheep. For example, I used to think that going to school was for myself: to graduate and get a degree. Since that is what everyone else was doing, I thought that was the straight path. However, I realize now that that was the bent path, instead, and this applies to anywhere that I go, I should be going there for the purpose of finding lost sheep.
Our Week:
Kana shared how her workplace hired a new employee, and now she is under her care. Kana has been teaching her and helping her around.

What We Learned:
Kanami learned about always being a good example. As a king, Rehoboam was supposed to be a good example to his people but instead, he let his pride take over and ended up losing the respect of his people. Kanami shared about how Masami-san has always been teaching us about being a good example to the younger kids because they look up to those that are older than them and tend to mirror their behavior.
I learned how important it is who you keep closest to you, because whether you realize it or not, they will influence your decisions and you will become like them. It seemed that the people Rehoboam kept around him were not wise because he thought it was smarter to ask his close friends rather than the counsel of Solomon.
Our Week:
I shared how I was planning to watch the new demon slayer movie in theaters the next day.
