Passage: 2 Kings 1
After reading, I shared about how it was interesting that God actively tried to include himself into Ahaziah’s situation. It showed me that he really cares about everyone and will do anything to offer them a chance to turn to him. He didn’t have to do anything about Ahaziah’s condition, it really wasn’t his business, Ahaziah, himself, did not even ask for God’s help. Nevertheless, God still tried to speak to Ahaziah.
We both wondered what the meaning of the whole sending 3 groups of men to Elijah was about. Kanami talked about how there has to be a meaning behind each number (3 groups of men), similar to how there were 400 false prophets in the previous chapter (1 Kings 22).
Kanami did not really have anything to share about her week so far. I shared about how yesterday was the first time that I wore my retainers since my wisdom teeth removal. I was instructed by the doctor to not wear them until my next checkup appointment, which ended up being moved all the way to this Friday. Therefore, since it has been almost 3 weeks, they told me that I could wear them if everything seemed ok (no pain or anything in my mouth). Since it had been quite a while, the retainers felt VERY tight (a little painful almost) as my teeth had already begun to move (once you get braces/invisalign, you are required to wear your retainers for the rest of your life).
Before ending the call, I also asked Kana about how she seasons her chicken (I have been eating a lot of chicken, as that is really the main source of meat that I can eat right now). She talked about how she does all sorts. She gave an example of Italian seasoning, using herbs. I asked if there is a specific one that she likes, to which she responded that she enjoys ponzu-like seasoning, nothing too heavy.
